Good evening Welby Way families,
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend as we move closer to the end of the school year. This is going to be a busy week ahead as our 3rd - 5th grade students start their annual SBAC testing.
This Week:
SBAC Testing: 5th grade will begin their SBAC testing on Monday - Thursday and 3rd and 4th grade will begin on Tuesday - Thursday this week and next week. To ensure all students do their best on the test, all students must be in school each morning on time. This will prevent students from having to make up their test and take their test within their classroom. I know that our students are going to rock the test after all their hard work and the hard work of our Welby Way teachers this school year.
1st & 2nd Grade Spelling Bee: On Monday morning our 1st and 2nd grade students will be participating their grade level spelling bee. The finalist of the spelling bee will then move onto the Hale Complex Spelling Bee for our 1st - 5th grade finalists on May 21st at Pomelo Elementary. I wish them all the best of luck!
2nd Grade Field Trip: On Friday rooms 16, 22, 23, and 33 will be going on a field trip to the TreePeople. All students must have a signed and completed field trip slip submitted to their teachers. I know they will have a great time.

-5/31/24 4th Grade Gold Rush Event - only approved LAUSD volunteers may participate
-6/3/24 Volunteer Tea 9:30 - 10:30 am
-6/6, 6/7, and 6/10/24 12:35 am Minimum Day dismissal
-6/10/24 5th Grade Culmination 8:15 am Magnet and 10:15 am Charter
-6/11/24 Last Day of School for the 2023 -24 school year
